Revenue lines and entry points

The breakdown

Siggmund does not measure "your site" as a whole. It breaks your business down along two axes.

  • A revenue line is a way of making money: a product family, a service, a customer group. An art gallery may have "artwork sales", "location hire for shoots" and "framing".
  • An entry point is a way a customer reaches that line: a need, a product, a service, a brand, an event. For "location hire for shoots", it will be "film location in Paris", "period set", "day hire".

Your revenue lines are listed in Profile.

The quadrant

A quadrant is where the two cross: an entry point within a revenue line. It is the unit Siggmund measures, and the one you act on.

Your three metrics exist at the level of each quadrant. That is where averages start to mean something: a quadrant at 12 and a quadrant at 68 do not call for the same work, even if the average looks fine.

The views of the Performance page

  • Fan: your revenue lines, then the weakest entry points first, with their gap in points to the median.
  • List: all entry points, sorted by priority, then by score. It is the view to work from.
  • Matrix: revenue lines crossed with entry point types, in colours. It is the view to spot a gap.

The Auto mode picks the view for you.

Priorities

A quadrant's priority is read from its Score:

  • High ("High priority" on the dashboard): Score below 38%.
  • Medium ("Watch"): Score from 38% to under 60%.
  • Low ("On track"): Score of 60% and above.

Start at the top of the list: that is where the same effort has the most room to pay off.

Good to know

An entry point without a measurement shows a dash and "Not measured", never a zero. A zero would mean "measured and absent", which is not the same as "not measured yet".
