Connect your WordPress site

Once your site is connected, Siggmund publishes your approved articles there as drafts. Nothing ever goes live without your approval: you review and publish from WordPress as usual.

Connecting takes three steps and about five minutes.

The Siggmund dashboard is currently available in French only. The screen and button names below are quoted as they appear in it, followed by their English meaning.

Step 1 — Download the plugin

From your Siggmund dashboard, open Connexions → Site web / WordPress (Connections → Website / WordPress), then click Télécharger le plugin (.zip) (Download the plugin).

You get an archive whose name carries the version number, for example siggmund-wp-pairing-0.1.1.zip. Do not unzip it: WordPress expects the archive as is.

Step 2 — Install the plugin in WordPress

In your site's admin area:

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  2. Click Upload Plugin, at the top of the page.
  3. Select the .zip file downloaded in step 1.
  4. Click Install Now, then Activate.

The plugin is called Siggmund. Once activated, it adds no menu and changes nothing on your site: it only opens a write channel reserved for Siggmund.

Step 3 — Connect your site

Go back to the Siggmund connection screen, enter your site's address (for example https://example.com) and click Connecter en 1 clic (Connect in one click).

You are redirected to a consent screen, on your own WordPress site, that asks you to authorise Siggmund. Accept: you come back to Siggmund, and the connection is established.

That's it. No password has gone through Siggmund.

If the one-click connection does not work

The connection screen offers a fallback method using an application password. It needs two pieces of information, to be created in WordPress under Users → Profile → Application Passwords:

  • your WordPress username;
  • the generated application password, copied as is.

An application password is not your login password. You can revoke it at any time from the same page, without changing your credentials.

Troubleshooting

« Les mots de passe d'application sont désactivés sur ce site WordPress » (application passwords are disabled on this WordPress site) A security plugin blocks them, most often Wordfence. Ask the site administrator to re-enable them, or use the one-click connection, which does not rely on them.

« Le site WordPress n'a pas répondu » (the WordPress site did not respond) The Siggmund plugin is not installed, or not activated. Check under Plugins → Installed Plugins that it is listed and active.

« Le lien d'appairage a expiré » (the pairing link has expired) The consent link is deliberately short-lived. Simply start Connecter en 1 clic again.

« Le plugin Siggmund de ce site est trop ancien » (this site's Siggmund plugin is too old) Download the plugin again from step 1, then reinstall it over the old one. WordPress replaces the installed version.

Disconnecting

From the Connexions screen, the Déconnecter (Disconnect) button revokes access immediately on Siggmund's side. To cut the connection completely, also deactivate the plugin in WordPress.
